hey everyone, this is wesley. he is the key to my next king beard win. and while i thought that perhaps i might be winning king beard today, it seems that favorites are still favorites over the new guy 'round the block. its all right though. this is just the beginning wesley's many adventures. and hopefully the beginning of my future wins.

but in other news, christmas went well. click for picture fun. went down south. family went well. told them all about whiskerino and they thought it was funny, but something i would do. haha. i got a bunch of stuff too. actually, no i didnt really. i only got a few things, but it seemed like a lot i guess? anyways, my mom got me a nice leather laptop messenger bag, which is cool and something i needed anyways. i like practical gifts to be honest. the dude in me showing i guess. haha. anyways, she also gave me $100 and a $50 gas card (so i can drive back home...). got the usual envelops of cash and checks from assorted aunts and uncles and i got a target gift card which i traded in at boo boo's for 3 cds. i also bought myself some onitsuka tiger asics, which i like but is crazy because i NEVER buy shoes, let alone nice over $10 ones. i also got this...

...from kaitlyn and all the dudes on whiskerino wish they had one. haha. and sierra got a collection of random things: a very large mug, an across the us address book (another thing i needed), and an assortment on lisa frank memorabilia including a handful of character pins, a tin case and a very special letter written by andrew to lindsey discussing how she could not go to oregon with him because her parents would not let her go. all in all, a nice time was had.

with christmas comes the end of the year, and to be honest, i have nothing planned although i asked for new years day and the next off to recover/go do something. odd considering how much i have been doing lately. i mean, i have been out of town every week this month. perhaps all of it combined made me forget about new years. shorts asked me what i was doing and i said nothing. he suggested that i go to virginia and hang out with him. haha... what if i just did that for a day? flew to virginia to hang out with shorts and then flew back. how hilarious. but ultimately, i would really want to go to the beach and burn christmas trees like last year and then maybe go dumpster diving as most people will close early probably.

oh i got a bunch of sandwiches from the dumpster at work today. it was nice... and fun. its been a while too i noticed. i still have salads from the last dumpster diving adventure though. at least the 33 frozen pizzas are gone.

as for the plans of next year, also not that much on the horizon. trip-wise, i would like to visit philly and kansas city, although im realizing now with my rent, car, insurance and phone bills all tying me down, i barely have any money to do anything, so we will see how that goes. the whiskerino throwdown in nashville is still something i would like to go to and i would have a place to stay with casy, but i dont know if i should spend that much money to be honest. i found a good deal on tickets from lax to nashville nonstop, for 8 days there, at about $200, which is pretty good but i dont know if i should really spend that money and use vacation time or if i should save it for cornerstone 2008, that is if i go to that either. man, i need a lot more money soon. luckily i get my raise next week. but i still dont know if i should buy the tickets or not. ugh... we will see i guess.

also starting next year, zach convinced me to join him and brandon and other assorted folk in a minor online bible study with the one year bible. im actually excited about this idea because it will give me a chance to read the bible more and keep up with my talks about the Lord with others. plus i found a copy on amazon for $2 which made me happy. im looking forward to this...

lastly, i think moving out has been the one of the best things to happen to my relationship with my mom and i. not seeing her everyday makes me want to talk to her you know? like, i dont see her often so we actually converse when we see each other. the other day, we talked about social economic status of the Philippines and it was actually quite interesting to learn stuff i didnt know from her. where this will go in the future however, i dont know. but at least i can kinda talk to her now.

thats saying a lot.
